Gospel of the Grace of God for the Body of Christ: Page 93

Gospel of the Grace of God for the Body of Christ
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you FIRST OF ALL that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SIN ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES: 4 AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES (I Corinthians 15:1-4).

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (II Timothy 1:10).

With the BUT NOW Dispensation came a new and glorious Gospel of Grace for the Body of Christ, the grace church, purchased with his own blood (Acts 20:28), with a heavenly hope. Paul did not receive this Gospel from the twelve apostles or from other men, but from the risen Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:12).

Now salvation would be preached to all men, Jew and Gentile alike.

And to those who do not receive this Gospel,

3 But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 4:3-6).

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet (acceptable) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:12-14).

8 God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him (Romans 5:8-9).

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth (I Timothy 2:4).

There is power in these few words, this Gospel of Grace.

These are not just any words. They are God’s words of truth, His sword;

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

When we speak these words, God the Holy Spirit convicts the mind and heart and souls of those who are lost and, like us, they become a new creature, a new creation in Christ.

We have this treasure of these words and our Holy and Righteous God Himself living in our earthen vessel; God trusts us with His power.

When we open our mouths with these words to share with an unbeliever, God is entrusting us with the eternal life of another person, He rewards us with the joy of seeing His power at work when He brings each new soul into His kingdom.

Faith in these words pleases God.

7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

9 for we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building (I Corinthians 3:7, 9).

This Grace Gospel is not the Kingdom Gospel for the Kingdom Church, the remnant, with an earthly hope, the gospel Peter continued to preach.

36 Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36).

38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people (Acts 3:13-15, 19-23).

Today, when we share the Gospel with an unbeliever, these are not the words we repeat.

We do not scold people for Christ’s death, we offer them His gift and His hope through what He accomplished on the cross.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is not the same as the Gospel of Grace;

7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the Gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me (Paul), as the Gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8 For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me (Paul) toward the Gentiles (Galatians 2:7-8).

This BUT NOW Gospel of the Grace of God that Paul preached to the Gentiles (Acts 20:24) is the Gospel in which today both Jew and Gentile place their faith and trust to please God and receive the gift of eternal life.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (II Corinthians 5:21).

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness (Romans 4:5).

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost (Titus 3:5).

Three times in the Holy scriptures we read Paul giving reference to ‘my Gospel.’ His gospel offered new information that had not been understood during the time of Jesus earthly ministry.

He states:

8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to “my gospel” (II Timothy 2:8).

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to ‘my gospel’ and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began (Romans 16:25).

We will also take a look at how we will be judged by ‘my gospel’.

In the BUT NOW Dispensation it is important to become grounded, settled (Colossians 1:23) and established in the Gospel of Grace and in the mystery that God had kept secret from man and the angelic creation.
